After a very wet start to the morning, followed by some bright sunshine, I knew that some interesting back lit photos of foliage could be taken. When raindrops form on the leaves, setting the camera purposely out of focus, creates little light effects, I'm told it's the Leprechauns that turn them on! I did manage to get a few of these effects, but then the sun went in, so I changed to a, close up, shallow depth of field session. The following photos are those taken by me this morning, 24-08-2011, I also threw in a couple of sunsets from the previous evening, and a simple silhouette of water and sky.

Another back-lit photo |

An on purpose, out of focus with back-lighting, makes the raindrops look like small lights on! |
Back lighting to the foliage is very effective. |
But throw the rain saturated foliage out of focus and the light turn on again. |
More out of focus lights. |
Just a simple depth of field study! |
Spotted this flower with the grass bent over and fixed to it by a spiders web, amazing what you find when you look close! |
Lots of berries about, Oh no, I'm told it's a sign of a cold winter, not again please! |
A very wide aperture, (F4), to give a very shallow depth of field. |
More wet foliage, very pretty with the back lighting. |
An exposure for the bright sky makes a nice silhouette of the land. |
I thought this interesting cloud formation was worth a photo. |
Sunsets from Tuesday evening. |
