29th March 2011.
On Tuesday the 29th March, I photographed local churches at Cromane & Killorglin, these photos were taken in the early evening, before dark, I intend to return and photograph them after dark when they will be illuminated by churchyard lighting.

7th April 2011.
On Thursday evening the club traveled to Waterville to enjoy an evening of photography during the 'Blue Hour'. The challenge was to take long exposure photos of the surf, the long exposures should enable us to
give the water a milky appearance, and I'm glad to say the results shown in my Blog show that I achieved
the requirement. I finished with a few photos of Waterville town at night, and a few light trails of cars for fun, made for a satisfying evening.

21st April 2011.
This Thursday evening, the club members met at Barbara's, and the traveled to the Glen where we would shoot a panorama of Puffin Island and the skelligs. Six members and two guests were present on a chilly evening.Michael instructed all in the best methods to achieve the desired results. The following photo is my effort  and is made up from seven individual photos stitched together in Elements9.

The next photo shoot will be in the morning for a change, with a visit to Kells gardens, lots of opportunities for macros!! I will be unable to attend but wish you all good weather, and I look forward to seeing you shots on the club blog.

Kells gardens,

The Kells Garden visit was unfortunately washed out by rain, and will be re arranged at a later date.

19th May 2011.
This meeting will be to discuss our church photos for display in the forthcoming exhibition, and was followed up by a photo session near Dungeagan, at a small beach area.

2nd June 2011.
The next meeting of the South Kerry camera Club will be to photograph the beautiful gardens of Derrynane house. All members to meet at 7:30pm at Derrynane.

Light and Shade in Derrynane gardens.

The evening at Derrynane house was supported by six members, one potential new member, and of course Michael Herrmann. The weather was kind and very warm, causing the midges to come out in force, but a wash down in repellent seemed to do the job. After taking photographs in the gardens, the group moved on to Derrynane beach, and the old church on the cliff, where more photos were taken.

The next meeting will be held at Tech Amergin, Waterville, on Friday the 10th June, at 7:00pm to sort the photos for inclusion in  the forthcoming exhibition on the 19th June. It was decided that the club would meet again on thursday 16th for the final dressing of the display, prior to the exhibition.
Follow link for more details of the exhibition and entertainment for the evening.

Sunday 20th November saw 13 members of the camera club visit Gougan Barra for a photo shoot in one of the most picturesque attractions on the Cork area. This truly stunning area has a small church situated on a small spit of land extending into a lake. The church is a very popular venue for weddings, where the outstanding backdrop enables some fantastic wedding photos for the album. This is definitely a unique place to visit, and comes very high on my list of recommended Sunday outings.
