My Facebook Winning Photo
This photo taken in Cromane bay, won me the "Say Cheese Photographer" Facebook competition, and was voted into first place by viewers clicking the like button. The competition was decided by the photo with the most likes, and this photo won out of 116 other photos from worldwide entries! Many thanks go to all those that voted for it. Even nicer to think the competition was won by an entry from a member of the "South Kerry Camera Club".

THE STAR OF THE SEA CHURCH CROMANE
Tonight on my way home from Jacks, I noticed that the church was taking on a special look due to the new infrared heating system recently installed. When the heaters are on they glow bright red, lighting up the church windows with a red hue. I have passed the church and observed this scene a few times recently and decided tonight to go home and grab my camera, and get the pictures, the following are those taken by me. The church has been undergoing some internal work over the last two weeks, and the workmen have been working with the heating on.

Lower Cromane Sunset Evening of 01-12-11
After last nights thunderstorm, this evening was a total contrast, with another beautiful sunset over Cromane Bay. I finished work in my workshop today at 4:30, as I spotted a nice colourful sky building, so I grabbed my camera and headed for Lower Cromane. The following photos are those captured by me during a 1 hour period, the fantastic colours in these sky photos, are a joy to behold!!

| My first photo, the sun is just behind the cloud. |

| The bay was so calm, with no wind, and the tide just turning. |
![]() |
| A few degrees Northerly from the setting sun, and totally different colours make for a striking photo. |
![]() |
| A few more degrees North, looking at Slieve Mish mountains. |
![]() |
| Back to the setting sun, still hiding behind cloud. |
![]() |
| Sun just peeping below the cloud. |
![]() |
| Hey! there it is now we have a double sun with its reflection in the water. |
![]() |
| At 18mm full wide angle. |
![]() |
| 18mm again swinging more southerly. |
![]() |
| 18mm towards Glenbeigh. |
![]() |
| Zoomed in to 50mm |

| Breaking the two thirds rule, but I wanted the cloud bank in. |
![]() |
| Looking more easterly, towards MacGillycuddy Reeks, nice colour in the clouds. |
![]() |
| Back towards Glenbeigh, the sun has now gone. |
![]() |
| Backed out to 18mm again. |

| I saw this Heron fishing in the late sun, but he was too far away to get detail, even for my 500mm |

| Another view below Jacks! |
