MAINLY BIRDS AT 500MM

Today's dog walk in Lower Cromane, saw me armed with my K5 and my Sigma 500mm. I mainly used F16, with the camera sorting out the best ISO, that turned out to be mostly 1600, to give me shutter speeds in excess of 1/3000sec +  Most of the bird shots were taken at 7fps, and follow focus additional settings. The following results show the photos taken.

John Foley fishing over by Inch strand.

As I said in yesterdays shoot with the F1.7 Prime, Bokeh can also be produced with a telephoto lens at smaller apertures.

The Lower Cromane sentry, a Hooded Crow, he always keeps a look out and shouts the odds!

A Cormorant in full flight.

Inch at 500mm

Oystercatcher in flight, these birds fly extremely fast, and are difficult to catch handheld with a 500mm.

From here on mostly Gulls, adult and young

Coming in to land, undercarriage down!

Touch Down!!!!

Crash landing!!!

Bow wave during reverse thrust!!

John Joe Reilly taking Oyster seed bags to the growing grounds.

Hi John Joe, Yep! it's me, see the Tohatsu is still running strong!!

The gulls wings look beautiful in their varying stages if flight.

More flaps than a 747.

Hooded crow, just sitting in the sun

The old man is home! where the hell do you think you've been???

Oooo not to be missed, a Cormorant sunning itself

The light is from behind him so not much detail to see, hope he stays around.

Ooopps he's seem me, don't go!!!

A complete poser, now showing his back with the sun on it.

Just like a model, turning to show me all, Poser!!!!

One final wave!

A zoom in to 500mm for one last look.

Today's Heron
