Lower Cromane Blue Hour 27Th Dec 2011

The following photos were taken this morning on my dog walk in Lower Cromane. I took these photos during the Blue hour. The sky was stunning and full of colour, and as I am still experimenting with my new camera, and its many modes, it gave me the opportunity to take some wonderful photos. The bird shots were grabbed by switching to a high ISO mode, and speed,  the focal length of the lens prevented me from getting close up shots of the birds, so I don't regard these as special, but Hey! Ho! the practice is good.

The beauty of Lower Cromane in the Blue hour!

My Facebook Winning Photo

This photo taken in Cromane bay, won me the "Say Cheese Photographer" Facebook competition, and was voted into first place by viewers clicking the like button. The competition was decided by the photo with the most likes, and this photo won out of 116 other photos from worldwide entries! Many thanks go to all those that voted for it. Even nicer to think the competition was won by an entry from a member of the "South Kerry Camera Club".

THE STAR OF THE SEA CHURCH CROMANE

Tonight on my way home from Jacks, I noticed that the church was taking on a special look due to the new infrared heating system recently installed. When the heaters are on they glow bright red, lighting up the church windows with a red hue. I have passed the church and observed this scene a few times recently and decided tonight to go home and grab my camera, and get the pictures, the following are those taken by me. The church has been undergoing some internal work over the last two weeks, and the workmen have been working with the heating on.

Photo view from Liss

The Infrared heaters make the church look like its on fire internally.
